Who are the MSLs at The Medical Affairs Company (TMAC)

Nikki Peterson At TMAC we hire our Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) based on a number of requirements that are communicated by our pharma/biotech and device Clients. My Team and I generally seek candidates who possess a PharmD, PhD or MD and previous MSL experience.  With certain Clients the educational requirements are open and do not require a doctorate level degree, recognizing the value of the MSL experience the candidate brings. In those cases, candidates possessing an advanced nursing degree (e.g., MSN, PA) may also be considered.  As with any MSL position, clinical and/or patient care experience, as well as specialization in a therapeutic category is expected to be considered.  While it’s not uncommon for a Client to seek a professionally diverse group of candidates, shying away from the “cookie cutter profile” when staffing their MSL team, the great majority of TMAC’s Clients mandate previous field medical experience.  Field-based relationship development and a hands-on knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, specifically Medical Affairs, play a big part in a Medical Science Liaison’s success. If you have it, you know why. If you don’t, ask someone who does and they will explain why our industry requires it now more than ever.

If you’d like to talk with me personally about TMAC MSL Careers, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect with you! You can find me on LinkedIn.
